Girthy Oversized Chef’s Knife Steam Pre-Installed
Girthy Oversized Chef’s Knife, often shortened to GOCK, is a cozy and cheeky visual novel about a second chance at life. The protagonist worked so hard that the job ended in an early death, but the story does not stop there. A goddess with too much free time pulls the fallen worker back from the grave and makes a simple but demanding deal. Once every month, the revived cook must serve her a meal good enough to keep her interested, or face the consequences. The rest of the time is spent in a quiet rural village full of odd, memorable residents. Life there moves at a slower pace than the grind that came before, and the game treats this as a chance to rebuild. At its heart, GOCK mixes light romance, humor, and slice-of-life storytelling with a playful premise about food, favor, and learning to live properly the second time around.

What sets GOCK apart is how its story sits on top of a card game. Foraging trips play out as rounds of blackjack, and the cards drawn decide which ingredients the player carries back to the kitchen. Those ingredients are then turned into dishes, and each meal does more than fill a plate. Cooked food grants special effects that let the player bend the rules of the card table, such as nudging the odds or getting around a bad draw. This creates a steady loop where better foraging leads to better cooking, which in turn makes the next outing easier. Between these runs, the player spends time with the villagers, including a fiery blacksmith, an innkeeper who has no talent in the kitchen, an easily flustered shopkeeper, a towering farmer, and a baker whose bread no one can seem to recreate. Building these relationships moves the story forward alongside the monthly deadlines set by the goddess. Overall, GOCK is a charming blend of card-based strategy, cooking, and character-driven storytelling with plenty of personality.
