Neat! Steam Pre-Installed
Neat! casts players as Molly, the founder of a small but thriving business built on a simple premise: help people settle their minds by settling their surroundings. Every home she walks into is cluttered for a reason, and the piles of belongings scattered across floors and shelves quietly say something about the person who put them there. The game unfolds across eight handmade spaces, each belonging to a different client with their own situation to untangle. Molly’s first job takes place in a grandmother’s garden, and from there the work leads to a neighborhood library wrecked by an evening of chamber music that got out of hand, a VTuber’s streaming setup that needs sorting before her debut broadcast, a single mother’s kitchen, and a Japanese convenience store during the quiet stretch of the night shift. A few visits lean stranger, including a living room its owner insists is haunted and a bedroom belonging to a man who never leaves it. The last space Molly tidies is closer to home than any of the others.

The core loop is calm and tactile. Players pick up objects, examine them, and decide where each one belongs, gradually turning a chaotic room into something ordered and restful. The environments are filled with interactive items rather than generic props, so the act of sorting doubles as a way to piece together a life: a receipt, a keepsake, or a half finished project reveals more about the person than conversation alone would. Progression moves client by client, with each completed location opening the next chapter and expanding the kinds of spaces Molly handles, from outdoor gardens and family homes to workspaces and retail interiors. There are no fail states or timers pressing down on the work, and a carefully chosen soundtrack keeps the pace unhurried. The game runs well on handheld hardware and has been tuned for smooth, comfortable sessions. Neat! ends up being less about cleaning and more about the understanding that comes with it, a gentle puzzle game where restoring order to a room is the first small step toward someone feeling better.
