SILENT HILL: Townfall Steam Pre-Installed
SILENT HILL: Townfall is a standalone psychological horror story that trades the series’ usual American backdrop for the cold, isolated coastline of Scotland in 1996. Its protagonist is Simon Ordell, a man summoned back to the island community of St. Amelia and asked, vaguely, to set things right. What greets him is a settlement sunk beneath heavy fog: houses emptied, streets silent, and a stillness that feels less like peace than something holding its breath. The deeper Simon pushes into the town, the more insistently pieces of his own history with the place and its residents float back to the surface. The entire game unfolds from a first-person viewpoint, the first full-length entry in the series to do so, which narrows sight lines and puts every encounter uncomfortably close. Rather than leaning on spectacle, the dread grows out of small details, long pauses, and the creeping sense that reality and delusion in St. Amelia have quietly begun to overlap.

Survival depends on a deliberately thin kit of weapons and tools, and each confrontation can be settled in more than one way. Melee fighting is fast and physical, built around swinging and blocking, while firearms allow Simon to keep hostile things at arm’s length. Avoidance is often the smarter option: enemy positions can be tracked from cover, noise can pull threats away from a route, and the layout of a street or stairwell becomes as valuable as anything carried in a pocket. Central to all of it is the CRTV, a handheld television that reinvents the series’ iconic radio. Tuning through its unstable analog signals warns of danger nearby and also pulls in story fragments, stray clues, and glimpses of ordinary life in St. Amelia before everything went wrong, feeding narrative puzzles that piece together events long buried. Several endings are possible depending on how the player behaves along the way. A dense soundscape and a reactive score by Pilotpriest swell and retreat with the action, making Townfall a tense, introspective horror piece about loss and consequence.
