Tipston Salvage is a strategic couch co-op logistics game for 2-4 players where you operate a vast number of eclectic junkyards throughout the city of Tipston. Call in new junk, crush and ship metal, and pack the designated storage areas neatly with the correct type of junk. The art of running a junkyard has been lost and it’s up to your crew to figure it out! Every aspect is designed around the concept of working as a team. Communication is key when pulling off a sequence of tasks in sync with your teammates. Each junkyard has its own unique challenges and can take multiple attempts to figure out. Use the Planning Phase at the start of each level to discuss and plan your course of action. The junk business is loud and messy. Tipston is truly an excellent entry into the “hectic co-op resource juggling” genre in the vein of Overcooked. Very simple concepts polished to a mirror shine, devious level design that will challenge teams to strategize and coordinate, beautiful hand-crafted visuals that feel simultaneously adorable and appropriately grimy, and the feeling of satisfaction from getting into the groove of organization to earn a gold medal is just top tier. This game is a super fun twist on task management co-op games! If you’re a fan of Moving Out, you’ll love this. There is crazy satisfaction in nudging a row of trucks into place! This game is unique because the difficulty is mostly in the execution. I have a few friends that hate Overcooked but love this! I am still in the early stages though, so I’m looking forward to more difficult maps.

We also played via Steam Remote Play Together and it worked flawlessly. A great backup plan for when actual couch co-op isn’t an option. Tipston Salvage is a great game – just as fun as the likes of Overcooked, but completely unique and original. The mechanics are simple, the puzzles challenging, and the gameplay delightful. There’s also an incredible amount of thoughtfulness and polish in the small details like tires leaving tracks in the mud and moving blocks to create your company’s name. The only flaw is that this talented (solo?) developer couldn’t incorporate online multiplayer, however the Remote Play experience is really great.
