Citadelum presents a unique three layered gameplay, based in city building core mechanics, strategic expansion and commerce, and the role of the gods. You will find different missions, artifacts and challenges in every playthrough. You have your traditional map view to develop a city in, and a region map which plays out Civ-style to explore neighbouring territories. In your city, you start by building a forum. Don’t let this dictate your city design unless you want it to however, as it is largely useless. Unlike town centers in something like Age of Empires, the forum just sits there. It can act as storage, but you don’t really need it to when warehouses and granaries are cheap to build.
