Karate Survivor Pre-Installed:
Karate Survivor throws some clever wrinkles into the well-worn action roguelike/survivors-like genre where while it’s still an auto shooter (er, auto kick-puncher), there’s a timing system to your attacks where you have 6 slots that you can fill with various punches and kicks as you collect them, and each one is run in order. You start a level with one punch which means five slots are blank, so there’s a longer amount of time between your attacks and you need to avoid the horde until it cycles back around again. Collect more punch and kick cards and now you’re fighting more rapidly. You’ll learn very quickly to wade into the crowd while your kicks and punches are about to activate, and avoid everyone while waiting for them to reset. It’s an odd system at first but a very compelling one once you get the hang of it after a run or two.
