Looks good so far, all the mechanics are familiar for deckbuilder roguelikes. Interesting system to choose encounters via cards. “Tutorial” should have been shown step by step while playing the first turns, instead of just a wall of text as the first thing a player sees. Also dragging cards needs to be too accurately targeted, which is quite annoying. E.g. self cast cards still need to be dragged exactly onto the player, even though there’s no possible other target. As a fan of Lovecraftian horror and anything published for Arkham Horror, this game makes me happy. They’ve done such a good job with the setting. I love it. It’s worth it just for the overall experience.
Menace from the Deep Video-Games:
The presentation is phenomenal, the artstyle is amazing. Really good atmosphere for a lovecraftian game. Gameplay is good, the travel decks are a novel idea. A lot of similarities to Slay the Spire but with its own neat little mechanics. One big dislike for me though is the deckbuilding aspect, and thats not good for a deckbuilding game. You get better versions of your cards the more you use them. Sadly, that makes stalling fights the optimal play and there is not a lot the game does to punish you for it. Also, you can´t get rid of cards. At all. You start with a lot of mediocre ones, so either you keep your deck thin by barely taking any new cards or your deck bloats with a lot of dead weight.
