Your Android Steam Pre-Installed
A mysterious package arrives at your door, the contents inside shock you beyond belief. The Android woman inside reveals herself to be known as Float, and she desires to know more about what it means to be human. You cautiously accept her request and begin your new life with her In this kinetic visual novel, you play the role as Float’s teacher, you’ll go on many different adventures as you teach Float more about the human world, teach her about the nuances of conversations as you go grocery shopping, or understand what it means to be truly beautiful as you shop for new clothes, you have a lot of work cut out for you as you watch this adventure unfold.
First off, I want to compliment some parts of the game I downright enjoyed. The artwork, which from what I can tell was done by the developers fiancée, is downright gorgeous. Also the music is good too, my only wish would be that there was more of it and more variety, but with the indie nature of the game; I completely understand why there isn’t that. I would like to add, there were some genuinely funny moments. But as the thumbs down shows, I do have my fair share of criticism for the game. Let’s start with one that shocked me when I first bought the game. HOW IS IT 2GBs? I’ve played my fair share of VN’s in the past; Doki Doki, several chapters of Higurashi When they Cry, and Milk Inside/Outside a Bag of Milk, and excluding the last two, the other two games are exponentially longer and take up far less space.

There is also the aspect of storytelling, I have a few complaints here. One of them is that characters should be driving the plot forward, while one could argue that this is happening in Your Android, it feels unnatural. The two characters Float and Mr. Player at times feel indistinguishable from each other, this becomes increasingly an issue towards the middle and end of the game. Another story issue I have is the question of whether or not Float has a soul or emotions. The game never properly explores this concept to its full potential. The entire story surrounding that part just feels rushed and is full of contrivances.
