About The Game
Island Diary let’s work together to survive on the deserted island. This is an uninhabited island rich with greenery. The main character, Ryou, has lost his memory after drifting ashore. He ends up living the castaway survivor lifestyle together with the girl who finds him According to Momo, there are two other girls on the island: Kuro and Moca. However, they had a falling out between themselves for some reason and they all live on their own. In order to survive, they need to cooperate as much as they can. With Momo’s guidance, Ryou goes to the other two to persuade them. Throughout Island Diary’s linear narrative, players witness events from the initially nameless protagonist who eventually calls himself Ryou. He finds himself washed ashore on an island, lacking memories of his past life. This dreary initialization does grow warmer, though, as Ryou encounters three girls on the island; Momo, Kuro, and Moca.
Momo is a carefree spirit and more than a bit of an airhead. She is the first girl players are introduced to, and her constant aura of exuberance aims to comfort Ryou in this understandably worrisome situation. Additionally, Kuro is your quintessential tsundere, and Moca is a bashful worrywart. These girls used to live together on the island before Ryou washed ashore. But, unfortunately, a curious incident regarding a notebook they found tore the sisterly dynamic apart, and they ended up living alone on separate sections. THE STORY: I KNOW there is a great story in this game somewhere, trouble is this game is so intent on trying to confuse, mislead and be all round mysterious that the story becomes disjointed and difficult to follow. There really doesn’t appear to to be any conclusion to it all either, I still don’t feel there has been any closure.
THE COMBAT: This is where the game shines, the multiple powers Jesse gains throughout the game are all fun to use and play around with, though you will end up finding yourself sticking to a core few. Using telekinesis to throw the corpse of an enemy at another attacking enemy was always fun in a sadistic way. Don’t judge me!! Immediately, you’re dropped into the fray. You showed up to the FBC looking for a job, only to discover, the person who was to interview you is found dead in his office but there’s a gun nearby and you’re told to grab it, and so you do, and now you have a gun. But this is no ordinary gun and this is no ordinary workplace. Something’s not right. You’re not sure where you are, or even, who you are. The world around you is barely a smattering of the real world. Reality is fractured. Your mind is fractured. The FBC is a collective of dimly lit rooms with assailants that seemingly come out of nowhere, who seem to want to hurt you, and kill you and you don’t know why. You seem outside yourself, as if your own sanity is hanging by a thread. People are hanging in mid-air as if by invisible hooks or nooses. Lights are continually blinking,
