Öoo Steam Pre-Installed
Öoo is a superb puzzle game about a bomb caterpillar and showcases an exceptional mastery of design that immediately propels this game to be among my top favourites from this year. I was continuously in awe of its clever levels (and their solutions) which demonstrated a satisfying depth, even with its fairly simple mechanics, that I don’t think even more mechanically dense games could provide. It’s all perfectly rounded off with the adorable art and charming music, so I cannot recommend this game enough for anyone that enjoys a clever bit of puzzling. Cute and mind-boggling puzzle game with with a metroidvania kinda map. There’s only a few inputs you can do, but my god does the game really explore the depths of these inputs. Lots of moment that makes you go “oh my god”

This is a shockingly clever puzzle metroidvania. I don’t want to describe it here because I feel like that has the potential to spoil some of the magic. The only thing I’d want to know is that there are minimal actual upgrades that you get along the way but that makes the puzzle diversity more impressive, considering. Total time for me to beat the base game was just under 3 hours but there is a good amount of potential in speedrunning and a fair amount of exploration and additional puzzles you can tackle after beating the game. It doesn’t feel too overwhelming since all the puzzles can be completed the moment you become Ooo. The puzzles are really well-designed, you just have to really pay a lot of attention to the details.
