The game is full of castlevenia references but the story-line has nothing to do with it, I got the game on a discount, so i will suggest you wait for a discount before paying full price lastly, there is no an auto-save feature, so make sure you save in rest points whenever you cross by’m, imma do ma NG+ after taking break.
Combat feels rich and fluent, dash cancelling from SoTN makes its return and boy does it ever carry through the first 90% of the game. Not only does every weapon feel different, but also offers a vast array of play-styles suit for anyone’s needs. Want a sword? Got tons of those. Maces? Yes sir. GUNS!? Damn, I didn’t think those would work in this type of game, but they do. If you do plan on playing with guns, please do note that they aren’t the most effective method of combat, so the game rewards you for going up-close and swinging at ’em. You have Shoes, Swords, Daggers, Clubs, G-Swords, Katanas, Spear, Whips, and Firearms. Quick disclaimer though, whips function different here than in the classic castlevania titles.
