Little LUMI Model is a desktop companion application built around a single hand drawn character who treats the computer screen as a place to live rather than a window to be displayed in. Lumi appears over whatever is already running, strolling along the lower edge of the monitor, scaling the sides of active windows, dangling from title bars, and curling up for a nap whenever the desk goes quiet. The concept is deliberately small in scope and warm in tone: there is no story to complete and no goal to chase, only a tiny animated presence that gets on with her own business while ordinary work continues underneath her. Every one of her sixty four behaviours is assembled from one hundred and twenty two frames drawn by hand, giving her movement a sketchbook softness that stands apart from the flat interface around her. The result sits somewhere between a virtual pet, a screen mate and a quietly useful desktop utility.

Lumi walks, runs, sprints and skids to a dusty halt, reading window frames, walls and ceilings as climbable terrain, and occasionally throwing herself off a title bar for no particular reason. She reacts to direct attention as well, brightening when the cursor rubs her head, saying hello when clicked, and tolerating being picked up, shaken and flung across the display. A right click menu requests specific actions, and she can be called over from the tray icon. Attention accumulates into an affection meter that climbs through six stages and unlocks fresh lines of mumbled chatter, alongside fifty achievements to collect. Practical features include a focus mode with a Pomodoro timer, spoken hours, alarms that send her sirening around the floor, and shortcut favours she performs on request, plus automatic hiding in front of full screen apps. Several companions can share one desktop, where they chat, high five, trade credits and play tag, and optional extras add bongo playing, buildable floating gardens, a physics puzzle mode and window tossing. Community made characters, five languages, multi monitor support and a self contained runtime round out a companion designed to be left alone.
