About The Game
Cult of the Lamb casts players in the role of a possessed lamb saved from annihilation by an ominous stranger, and must repay their debt by building a loyal following in his name. Start your own cult in a land of false prophets, venturing out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community of woodland Followers and spread your Word to become the one true cult. Collect and use resources to build new structures, perform dark rituals to appease the gods, and give sermons to reinforce the faith of your flock. Explore a sprawling, randomly generated world, fight off hordes of enemies and defeat rival cult leaders in order to absorb their power and assert your cult’s dominance. Train your flock and embark on a quest to explore and discover the secrets of four mysterious regions. Cleanse the non-believers, spread enlightenment, and perform mystical rituals on the journey to become the mighty lamb god.
In Cult of the Lamb, you take on the role of a lamb initially brought to the slaughter but was resurrected from death by an imprisoned deity called The One Who Waits and must repay your debt by building a loyal following in his name. Start by recruiting new followers to the flock, building a base for them to live in, going on bloody crusades against the otherworldly entities that trapped him and free your master. Cult of the Lamb is equal parts dungeon-crawler and religious management sim, with your tasks divided between tending to your devout flock of followers and fighting through procedurally generated dungeons. These dungeons are fairly short, consisting of several stages that players can clear to obtain valuable resources. During each stage, you will also encounter unique NPCs who can empower you with talents, offer powerful weapons, or award an assortment of stone, wood, or foodstuffs (including seeds) to cultivate your growing commune.

Not only will your followers approach you with a myriad of strange requests and menial tasks, but they will also be the source of your power and progression. Combat not only exists as a means to break away from the building aspects of the game, but also provides steady helpings of lore, resources, and a cast of delightfully strange and morbid characters. Equal mixes of adorable and disturbing best describes the game’s faux-paper art style, but that only lends greatly to its charm — no matter how macabre that charm may be.
