About The Game
The deeper Sean dives into this mysterious adventure, the more shocking circumstances arise. Sean learns the terrible secrets that the townspeople hid behind the walls of their homes. You’ll visit numerous atmospheric locations, solve varied puzzles and most importantly have to survive the attacks of a myriad of dangerous creatures. The plot unfolds rapidly and immerses you in a complex and supernatural story written in all the best traditions of the Survival Horror genre. Ok, so to be fair I have only played about 1/2 hour. But in that time I have learned so much. The game looks fine. The sound is fine. The voice acting . . . I am not sure if it is trying to be funny but it is hilarious. Couple that with the poor dialogue and it is just solid gold. The combat is fine (guns) but the stealth kills could use some work. You have to be way too close to instigate a stealth kill. And why can’t I wield the knife as a melee weapon for regular combat? The story is a lot like something out of a Silent Hill game thus far which is fine as long as every door I come across isn’t locked. Though most have been so far. I have been entertained thus far so, yeah, I guess I would recommend this game.
The writing in Sucker for Love is charming and funny throughout, but you still feel the pangs of fear once things start to go sideways. I think this is due to the time pressure from few of the scenes plus the more intense time pressure of the secret route, which is something you don’t see in VNs that often. The gameplay involves talking to and performing rituals for your lovely lady horrors. The theme for these rituals change for each girl, as such it keeps the main mechanics of the game fresh even though you’re still doing pretty much the same things.

If you look past the thirsty meme reviews talking about how they want to bang that Cthussy and leave your expectations of cringe behind you, this game will un-ironically be amazing. The game parodies on dating sim games, human nature and Lovecraftian elements while also somehow doing all of them justice very well. The humour is also very funny and had me laughing out loud multiple times. Sucker For Love actually has tons of great references and weaves the more “canon” lore of each Elder God perfectly into their dateable counterparts. It also has some excellent horror moments that left me genuinely tense in-between the well written, if more traditional dating sim parts. Oh, and all three of the main girls are cute in their own right, you really can’t go
