About The Game
A terrible curse is ravaging the realm and the only one who can stop it is a small-time thief named Volepain. The Weaver entrusted the instruments of creation to her children, the Nymphants. The Weaver put in the hands of her children the fate of the world’s creation and stability. The instruments of creation have the power to create and destroy the many worlds of Foretales. Discover the true goals of the Nymphants and the Cult or embrace the Maelstorm for eternity! Foretales tells the story of a world doomed by a dark prophecy. With the clock ticking on the apocalypse, it’s up to you to decide how to use what little time is left. If you want to find the path to salvation, you’ll need to decide what’s best for you and your companions! This one goes straight in my top favorite card games. The narrative aspect is perfect, like the dialogues and the narrator, not too much,
just the perfect amount. The clever way of combinning the skills and item cards with map cards and/or event cards. There are some REALLY fun combination to be made! The fact that you can literally try to be a hero or a “villain” so to speak, by killing everyone in your path or stealing everything, it’s just so much fun. The music and ambiences are great and fit perfectly. I really dig the visuals, not only the cards but the different types of background for each part of a mission and the change of mood… Man, it’s just… Perfect! I usually return card based games because I get tired of their mechanics. But I try them. This one I won’t return – it is great! This game gives the player interesting ways to explore and play using the cards. And it gives the player lots of choices. It feels like a choose your adventure RPG with excellent writing and art.
Foretales Direct Download:
There is really not a thing I can complain about here. If there was one thing it would be that I wish I could save the game when I want to. It auto-saves after you complete a region which usually takes between 15 to 30 minutes. But the gameplay is great so it’s not really an issue. Just played for an hour before going to work and felt compelled to drop by to say how much I love this game. It’s super hard to summarize what it actually is: a card game, but also a storytelling machine, but also a strategy game, but also a CYOA… Anyways, it’s fresh, it’s unique and it’s highly Very unique card system, lovely art and narration. Looking forward to how the plot develops, and seeing how things can go if you do things differently.
