About The Game
Rift Loopers is a twin stick shooter survival game with rogue like elements, where you will survive as long as possible against the mysterious alien insectoid race. SURVIVE AN ALTERNATE REALITY Fight your way through worlds lost to the insectoids on your mission to collect the resource needed for dimensional travel, the reality crystals. Dead or alive, your crystals will be returned to your dimension to be used to unlock additional weapons, characters and enhancements for your future loops. DISCOVER DEVASTATING ABILITIES As you mow down your foes you will level up, allow you to upgrade existing abilities or add new ones to combat the increasing power and intensity of enemy waves. Combine your active abilities with the right passive to unlock their true potential!
Complete challenges and spend your crystals to unlock additional character classes, abilities, weapons and enhancements to improve your fighting chance each loop. Ever wanted to shoot your way through an infinite swarm of giant insects trying to devour you? Me neither, but I still had fun doing it in Rift Loopers. As usual with Roguelites you kill, you die and you start over a bit stronger and do it all again. This time with the twist of choosing upgrades as you level during the match which can be combined to create more powerful skills. There are multiple classes to choose from for more variety of play style. As of this review it is brand new Early Access so just one map, but the developer has posted a road map with more maps, classes, weapons and other stuff. They listen to and respond well to player feedback so hop on the Discord and let them know what you think. I look forward to seeing this game grow.
Rift Loopers Direct Download:
The controller works perfectly, but I prefer mouse and keyboard for this one just because it allows me to use my mouse to make sure I’m hitting my targets and that my shots aren’t missing by the slightest margin as when I used my controller. It’s nice to have the choice however, and you definitely have that here. The game comes loaded with both graphic and audio options, typically that you’d only see i might higher priced games. This adds even more value to the already jam packed value in this little indie gem. It also has roguelike elements as you’ll be collecting drops from mobs that allow you to buy new weapons, characters, and abilities when you collect enough over many games. These are saved even if you close out of the game and mean that you’ll always be making progress even if you die horribly but just pick up a few of these drops before you die. Because the price is half or less of what I’d expect to pay for a game like this, and because it’s such a solid and fun game right here in early access as well, I give this game my rare “Zaxtors Indie Gold” award! This game is a “MUST BUY” in my opinion for any fans of twin stick shooters or roguelike high action games like this.
