Lucid Dream Direct Download
Lucid Dream is Point and Click horror game. Even though the little girl fell asleep as always she dream of being trapped in a weird place. It was a laboratory where terrible experiments took place. She tries to wake up but she couldn’t. The little girl decides to look around the place. Things that are out of common sense get in her way. She search for items, solves puzzles, and proceeds the maze like dream. Eventually she reaches the truth of the past. Will the girl be able to wake up from her dream? What the girl experienced in her dream, is it just a nightmare Easy enough puzzles that someone who is not too well-traveled in point-and-click games can enjoy and finish without frustration. Some creepy elements to keep you in suspense without going over-the-top. Lovely main menu music and artwork to relax you before beginning the journey and to calm your nerves afterward.
Lucid Dream is so effortless in its simple point & click game-play that you will quickly find yourself absorbed in solving the mystery that the female protagonist experiences during a lucid dream. You take control of the protagonist during her dream-state to explore the surroundings for notes & items that gradually unravel a horrific event within a laboratory. The intrigue is kept high throughout the first chapter thanks to a good use of effects amid a tense atmosphere setting as you get the sensation that not all is right in this laboratory and someone is keeping tabs on you! The game’s objectives are made clear throughout as words or hints will appear onscreen after progress in an area is made, there is an easy access inventory at all times and there is highlighted areas to show what is available to interact with throughout all areas or rooms. I liked the way an exit was shown by shaded lines (or floor-tiles) to help distinguish between other actions in the location and the puzzles were not challenging in any way it was more a case of seek out the item(s) needed to solve the puzzle to progress the linear story.
Lucid Dream Pre-Installed:
The game does take some Asian horror references and some are noticeable such as the ghost girl that many will associate with J-Horror classics such as Ring or Grudge while another instance is the lockers but the beauty of this game is it is enhanced by these rather than cliched. There are some minor jump-scares and fun use of other scare tactics which do benefit from the effects but overall unless you’re easily scared in horror games then this isn’t too bad an experience! The art throughout the game was varied in its approach which I liked and the intro music added a mysterious yet uplifting vibe to its piano crescendo. The Menu is, like the whole game in general, very direct and easy to use but there is no Save feature so this would need to be completed in one sitting unless you are comfortable replaying it all again which, to be honest, isn’t a bad thing because once you know the game advancement choices you can quickly get to wherever you left off before.
