Rogueslide Direct Download
We like 2048 and we love dungeon crawlers. So, just for the fun of it, we mashed the two together. RogueSlide is what happened. Position is everything. Gameplay is casual, yet each decision is strategic. Each move presents a new puzzle as you slide tiles around the board, slaying monsters, drinking potions, and casting spells. Survive 3 worlds of unique enemies and obstacles with 5 unlockable characters. Or try your hand at the Daily Dungeon or Arena modes. Sometimes a little game comes along in a genre I don’t normally play but then completely takes me by surprise. RogueSlide is a great example of this. You block slide around a small 6×6 map and basically bump into enemies to cause them damage. But beware, the ones behind you will then bump into you and you might find yourself in a sticky situation. Magic scrolls can help you clear out areas and health potion will keep you alive until you find the exit. To which I would advise booking it to as fast as you can.
filthy casual. ‘Roguelike’ is a genre I am finding myself enjoying more of in recent days (looking at you Vampire Survivors). I am by no stretch of the imagination any good at them but I really like the fact they are easy to put down after 20 minutes. RogueSlide feels very casual but at the same time there is potential here for challenges that will appeal to the more hardcore nuts of the genre. room for improvement. There are a lot of things this game could potentially do to keep it fresh and punters coming back. There are Daily Challenges, an Endless Arena and 5 characters to unlock at the moment. It is possible new enemies, zones and modes could get introduced later. I enjoy this game despite not being a fan of part of the inspiration title 2048. There is a lot less math involved, which I can thoroughly get behind. I’m a big fan of these “coffee break” type games. They take only a tiny amount of your time, are easy to pick up for a short run, and have entertaining mechanics that feel endlessly playable. This game seems to fall under that category.
Rogueslide Direct Play:
The mechanics are pretty simple. You slide your character in a direction on a 6×6 grid. Whatever direction the player moves, will slide their token until it collides with something, be that the edge of the grid, an enemy, a rock, or an item. Your main goal is to survive until you can escape. At first, it seems easy to do so, but enemies can quickly surround you dropped in, and you will have to think out your moves accordingly. My favorite aspect is the surprising amount of depth in this game. Enemies will attack each other, you can use rocks as placeholders to stop attacks, fire spells will wipe out plant enemies quickly, and some different strategies to master if you hope to tackle the game’s current three dungeons. Aside from the adventure mode, there are five characters to unlock, a daily dungeon run, and an endless play.
