Skeleton Boomerang Direct Download
Skeleton Boomerang is a platformer where the hero, Hunter, must use an enchanted boomerang to put an end to an army of bony soldiers led by the voodoo master Mr. Saturday. Get high scores, collect upgrades, find secrets, and overcome many skeletal challenges! As you progress through the game, your total score can unlock new boomerangs, new abilities, and health boosts. Your score is tied to performing combos by defeating multiple enemies in a single throw of your boomerang. The world is also full of secrets. Finding hidden items can unlock new stages and bosses. How many of us have imposed self-made challenges on ourselves to old platformers we know by heart? Those silly, pointless rules that nevertheless made an otherwise mundane segment into something much more challenging, leading us to question our own decision making and/or skills?
Skeleton Boomerang is that, personified. In the ultimate case of “Why am I making this so hard”, the boomerang juggling for points changes what would otherwise be standard platforming fare into a combination of physics manipulation, reflexes, and luck for your score. It was smart of the game to tie your upgrades into your accumulated score in order to encourage this, and it creates its own replay value in two ways when you return somewhere both to bump towards and upgrade but also for your own standards. It’ll also be the reason you fail to take down an enemy before taking damage, leading you to at some point to go “Why juggle when I can just throw it at them straight?” But that’s okay, you’ll silence that corner of your mind over time. The art style is lovely with Hunter having charming little animations (and for your many, bony foes), and the music is so catchy it’s one of the factors that got my attention to buy the game. I do think a few levels tend to drag on to the longer side than what’s necessary (mainly because you only get a mid-level checkpoint in each), but that wasn’t enough of a factor to make me look at this negatively.
Skeleton Boomerang Pre-Installed:
Some people consider this game ‘as tough as nails’ type of game. From my experience, it is true there are some tough battles but the flexibility in strategies that charms allow make most of these a fascinating exercise of creativity and patience. All in all, the game is usually fair and you are just a combination away from finding the perfect strategy to succeed. Such level of excellence can only mean that Hollow Knight is a multi-million production from one the biggest studios in the industry, right? Well, this is not the case. It was developed by a small indie team through a successful Kickstarter campaign. That’s why they deserve all the praise in the world, this game can hold its ground against the best games in the genre or even history. This is most likely the best game i have ever played and has opened my eyes to a brand new genre. If you aren’t enjoying the game 3 hours in continue playing as each passage and area will come with new challenges and foes. My one issue is with the final bosses. It felt quite anti-climatic when you beat Radiance and get nothing.
