The main character Jane works in the GwenBlade organization, which treats people with psychological problems. This happens through a special device similar to a VR helmet, with which we go into a person’s consciousness. Each level is the personification of their soul, created from memories. The game has both quest and platforming elements, but the main gameplay is still battles. For each battle, you become stronger by getting increases in stats, currency for pumping, as well as active abilities and passive power-ups – your jumps can set fire to the enemy or strike with lightning, or maybe you want to blow them up just by running past? The choice is yours Hack and slash throw enemies.

The movement in this game is something that I felt was very promising but also ultimately underutilized, the game features wall running, hook mechanics, mid-air dashing, jump resets, and all kinds of weird platforming vibes. It all sounds great on paper, I love any game that allows me to make giant elevation changes with the platforming, but when you combine it with just constant camera issues or sticky walls, you just never really in full control of the game. In theory, the game has a lot of good core ideas to be an awesome platformer, but you never really get to experience it properly due to various level design issues and just the polish with the movement.

The first thing that happened to me after playing the latest version is that I got clipped on terrain like 5 times in the first 30 seconds, and the game was not even this unpolished on the first day of early access. I do think the first level in this game feels more hazardous than some of the later stages, I think Julia’s first level should have been the introduction to the game because there is less stage junk in the area – in general, your goal for improving the game should have been level design and making sure the player feels in control. So for the “rogue-lite” gameplay, the dev made a decent system where you upgrade the abilities, stats and change weapons as you progress through the game, and it has some variety to it, but the way it ultimately interacts with the overall challenge of the game, it really did not matter in the end, like it’s so easy to just power creep the enemies if you know what you doing, all these creative upgraded did not have their niche, just find one good ability and cheese the enemies.
