Raging Blasters is a vertical scroll shmup featuring high speed scrolling and the exhilaration of destruction. Arcade mode: It consists of 8 stages. The game is cleared when you break through all the stages. You can choose from three difficulty levels. Caravan mode: 3 minute score attack. Game scores are recorded both online and locally. You can compete with other users for scores online. Two-player cooperative play is possible. HOW TO PLAY: Use the directional stick and three buttons: forward shot, wide shot, and speed change. You can change the button assignments as you like. Main weapon can switch between forward shot and wide shot at any time.
Picking up any weapon gives you a small amount of frames of invincibility, just like powerups do in the Aleste series. Use this to your advantage to pointblank enemies and speedkill them. You have a chain that increases number by enemies killed, the higher the chain the higher the multiplier. The arcade mode of the game has 8 stages of varying length and simple bosses that end up being massively fun. This game was designed with care and affection for the STG genre, with accessibility in mind for players of all skill levels. NORMAL mode should be easy enough for you to understand mechanics and have a fun and exhilarating romp that beginners in the genre can enjoy.

Raging Blasters is a game with an awesome soundtrack and one designed with the most care for the design of shmups of the early 90s console era I’ve seen. I was part of the testing team and I’ve rarely seen a dev being this responsive to feedback and putting so much passion into his game. You have 3 available speeds, changing speed will make your thrusters do some damage on the back of the ship. High speeds are good to move and speedkill enemies by pointblanking them. The wide shot button takes priority over the focused shot so learn when and where to use each one.
