Perhaps a bit too early for a review, but maybe at the same quite telling of how promising the game is or feels; so consider this an early commendation for it’s base concept if nothing else, which I wholeheartedly would grant it.
Crafty Survivors Direct Play:
I have seen and played my fair share of survivor games, on and off of Steam. And more often than not they always feel like they are lacking the formula of what made the original Vampire Survivors so charming. Or they try too many new things that make it feel out of place and off-putting or it disrupts the entire balance of certain items or upgrades towards specific builds. Most of them feel a bit clunky, ‘floaty’ or flat out buggy at which point they just start feeling like cheap knockoffs. So in this rare occasion that I find one of them where everything instantly feels polished, smooth and unique to boot, it truly is a sight for sore eyes. And whilst there probably still are possible balancing issues on certain classes or skills, in it’s early access state they will be prone to getting ironed out on feedback and through play-testing.
