A show of prowess of whoever is playing, yes, but not really fun to play if you ask me. Experimental sub-genres? You’re gonna have a hard time. Harsh noise? Absolutely no way.

Here’s the thing though: Almost all of these genres just *work* here. The original soundtrack made its rounds through dubstep, chiptune, house, drum & bass, orchestral, alternative rock, downtempo, experimental electronica, electro-pop, and that’s only considering the main game songs my first Soundodger 2 level used an industrial hip-hop track. And it’s not as intimidating as you may think! Its workflow is one of the best I have seen in a music game, and I’ve tried a lot of them, so I’m very sure anyone that gets this game would be able to make a fun, engaging level without needing thousands of hours of experience.
