As a sequel to a world renowned rhythm game “Rolling sky”, Rolling sky2 is a game where you can easily initiate an incredibly marvelous adventure by simple finger movements. Featuring challenging missions yet beginner-friendly gaming experience, the game is also a combination of anime movie and top-notch original soundtrack which will definitely get you hooked! Rolling Sky 2 is a sequel to the popular mobile game Rolling sky, which was a music based game where you rolled a ball through a course of obstacles synced to the beat. Rolling Sky 2 essentially takes that concept, but adds in a wonderful OST and each song gets a beautiful environment that attempts to tell a story through music and graphic alone. It does a very good job at doing so, with only a few issues that can easily be fixed in an update.
Playing the game couldn’t be any easier, just click and drag your mouse to move your character, don’t hit any obstacles, collect all the moons to get a gold medal. Just like Rolling Sky 1, all the obstacles are synced up with the music. Easy difficulty courses often have guides for you to follow to help you get started, but many higher difficulty courses really require you to keep close attention to what’s going on, as a sudden beat of the drums could shift the entire course. Each course has it’s own special functions, like snowboarding, or hitting certain areas to attack enemies that help each course differentiate themselves if the course layouts don’t already let you know you’re playing something entirely new. Overall gameplay is great, except for a few bugs I’ll cover later.

With Rolling Sky 2 being a musical game, you’d hope it has good music, and, well, it does. It has great music. Compared to the first Rolling Sky, you can tell there’s been a serious increase in effort for this game’s music. While Rolling Sky 1 was a lot of electronic, the music in the sequel is all full instrumental, and oh boy does it sound good. The OST in this game is good enough to listen to outside of the game. The graphics are pretty good for what they are. With the style of graphics they chose, I’d say they’re pretty good. High detail lighting effects that make you go “woah” tend to hide parts of maps where the graphics start to lack. The animations for some of the movements, especially on levels like “Theft” are a little lacking at times, but for the most part are good.
