You’ve just taken over the art gallery from your deceased father and it’s in pretty bad shape financially. So you apply for a grant and part of the requirements of getting that grant is to travel the different regions and get the approval other more established curators. The graphics are gorgeous and the gameplay rather straightforward. For those who like gaming and art history, Art Reborn: Painting Connoisseur is the perfect game for you as it’s a combination of both. This is a simulation game where you’re the curator of an art gallery that’s not doing well financially. You apply for a grant and go on a journey to collect the stamps of other established curators while learning about their respective perspectives on art. The graphic is cute and beautiful, despite slightly lagging at times.

The worst offender in the alchemy system is that Neutralizers can usually be looped into themselves, making for an easy early 999 quality item effectively putting you in the end game even on the highest difficulty. This trivializes all fights, including bosses, as they usually die in a few item uses. Unique to Ryza 3, another terrible decision is the Super Trait: Ultra Purity which easily trivializes gem reduction and duplication leading to easy gearing and mindless alchemy. For a game made in 2023, by Koei Tecmo, with similar competition such as the Tales series, the quality of storytelling does not meet modern standards. There are only TWO uniquely animated scenes in the main story and even then it’s mostly dialogue with no animation worth mentioning. Not unique to Ryza, this is a problem with the JRPG genre in general, and especially those that use rigid game engines like this that seemingly restrict animated movement.
