Complete side missions to unlock additional fleet stations and strategic options. These can provide one-of-a-kind bonuses in battles, from extra build queues to support powers – potentially turning the tide of the battle at hand or even the entire war. Take command of a custom fleet in intense 4x real-time tactical battles, maneuvering them in a fully 3D combat space. Employ complex, tactical maneuvers to gain the upper hand and defeat superior foes through cunning and strategic brilliance. Never give up and keep the fight going in the Sector Assault mode to generate a fully randomized starmap, side missions, and enemies, for fresh challenges each time. Use the robust campaign editor and mod.io integration to create and easily share new campaigns with fellow players and craft personalized challenges! The most fun in this game is the combat, but the rest of the game just seems a bit lacking in the management and detail so it comes across as a bit boring. But the combat is really cool, you can warp in bombers to make tactical strikes and you can harvest resources in battle and use them to build reinforcements that’ll show up. Plus you’ve got the vertical movement of the camera and positioning of your ships. Overall the combat is innovative, interesting and fun but I do worry about it becoming stale after a while. And the over-map strategy is a bit bland and boring, but overall I think this game is perfectly average.
