Poor Molly, all your friends are stone! Poor Molly! A sculptor’s apprentice cursed into a snake-haired Medusa – and so, every living thing she goes near instantly turns into a stone statue. Every living thing! Enemies and friends, bosses and shopkeepers, monsters and allies, even animals and small insects, they all turn to stone. Molly’s quest takes her through a series of mystical temples, as she struggles with loneliness and alienation. Inside these temples gravity is “local”. Molly’s “down” is calculated from the surface she’s currently standing on, which means she can easily walk up walls, or upside down in the ceiling. This allows the level design to twist in on itself, and curl into labyrinths that are physically impossible. Petrified enemies accompany gravity puzzles and non-euclidean architecture, in M. C. Escher scavenger hunts. Use your Medusa Curse to turn anything living into stone. Explore massive temples with interconnected passages and mind-boggling level design. Walk on walls! Gravity is local, and any surface can be a floor. Find powerful items to aid you in your journey.
All items are used for puzzles, combat and boss fights. Sail across the Sands of Solitude for extra secrets, treasures and upgrades. Featuring a hard-rocking heavy metal soundtrack by Burning Planet. Story and characters are extremely forgettable. (I don’t care much about stories in puzzle games so this isn’t huge to me, but it was still noticeable that I didn’t feel attached to any of the characters. Except maybe cait because they are a cat. I would’ve liked to see more mechanics introduced throughout the game. Specifically chapter 3 felt repetitive to me. You’ll also encounter a cat-shaped AI that will accompany you around the world, and yes, you may pet it. Despite the importance of the subject matter, all three narrative levels, whether from the outside, the inside, or the past, have shockingly little to say. This is a squandered chance that feels fabricated. The creators sought to include pop culture allusions, discuss a contemporary problem, and highlight human connections. In the end, none of this was successful. If the developers had focused on just one area, they could have developed the story far more coherently.

Most puzzles require you to use the images to solve them. Sometimes, however, they are simply amusing gags that will make you laugh. Later on, the frequency drops, which is unfortunate because this is when you might have truly let loose artistically and possibly even incorporated mini-games. You’ll go through considerably faster if you ignore the talk. The missions are organized into four hub planets that you can visit between levels. They are themed to correspond with the appropriate world builder. In the artist’s realm, you’ll go through a luxury mansion looking for artist’s supplies such as brushes and easels.
