Fight your way through a reality-shifting motel, floor by bloody floor. Save the victims of Draculae, lord of the vampires. Destroy the villain you loved–even if it means dying yourself. Somewhere in El Paso, Texas, a three-story motel gained another 46 stories… all below ground. So, yeah. This is going to get loud. Original hip-hop soundtrack.
Molotov cocktails filled with holy blue flame. A fully-voiced neo-noir story campaign set in a reality-shifting motel full of monsters. Hordes of destructible physics objects; for shooting. More slow-motion dives than you would think it is humanly possible to fit into a single video game. A solid bullet time shooter with supernatural noir vibes and fast, almost arcade-y action. The story deals with dark themes but takes itself just seriously enough to not be unbearably heavy without undercutting the seriousness of them. It’s a really good time all around.
More than worth the asking price–though so far it seems like bullet time serves no purpose if you’re experienced at shooting games. If you’re reading this you’re probably on the fence but you really shouldn’t be, just buy the game. So, If it took me 3 hours for one run, B rank. Another run for S rank will be faster as I have done the game (Infinite ammo guns unlocked now) then 1 more run on Inferno difficulty and thats the game 100% more or less. So I reckon It would take me…. 8 hours to 100% this game and that is multiple runs. The gameplay is also really where Dying Light has to draw its charm from when a story doesn’t seem to make sense. You can say that it actually ‘saves’ the game, as it were. They have managed to create such an action-packed game with meticulously crafted gameplay that it is difficult not to be impressed by Dying Light. Combine this with beautiful graphics and you actually have a very good game.

Sound design in a game can be as vital as communication among Decepticons in battle. While not its strongest point, Dying Light’s sound contributes positively to the atmosphere, adding a layer of immersion that can be appreciated. The graphics are stunning. The world is mesmerizing in its beauty and art design. Whether it’s a sunny, rock-strewn mountain path, a snowstorm on a craggy mountain peak, or an abandoned factory littered with mossy cars, the world is beautiful and immersive. And the soundtrack… it’s so so good. Songs come on at specific points in the game and always add a great deal of emotion and depth to the gameplay. For instance,when you leave the first area you have to make a long trek to the next city, which requires traversing a really precarious path up a mountain. When you finally reach the summit, after dodging ghostly BT’s and dangerous falls, an acoustic guitar starts playing as the rain dissipates, the fog clears, and your destination is finally in sight at the base of the hill.
