Normal mode: Conquer the tower at your own pace. Checkpoints are set between each stage, and before each boss encounter. Pick up extra lives as you ascend. Hardcore mode: Face a greater challenge. Master the abilities at your disposal and complete all the stages in one go – no checkpoints and no extra lives. Survival Mode: Fight against the clock. Enemies will amass in even greater numbers than before, and bosses appear of their own volition while you scramble to survive for as long as you can. While this game differs from the original I did enjoy learning the new levels it had to offer. the bosses took a bit to get used to and going for 500 combo took up most of my playtime.

The survival mode feels impossible to play, I want to see how insane players are if they can last even 2 minutes. Overall, since I received this for free it was well worth it but maybe wait for a sale or play the original if you are new to this game. Grab power-ups as you ascend for a boost to your abilities. Unlock bonus tracks composed by the musical artist Savant. Fill your Power Meter and blast your enemies with explosive magic. There are several, distinctly designed enemy types that all behave in a different way, and every 100 kills you get you face off against a mysterious ghost crow that serves as a boss. Even he dies in one hit, but he has a couple tricks up his sleeve.
