Arcade Sundown Direct Download
Plunge into the world of Arcade Sundown, a lilliputian pinball dribbler where you are shrunk down and run around with a pinball in lively, short matches. Points are collected by maintaining possession of the ball. Once the ball is in hand the multiplier starts — keep it going by traveling around the arena and up through the ramps. When you feel the time is right (or you can’t stand the pressure any longer) clock in your points by scoring a goal. In single-player mode, your opponents will be bent on overtaking possession and blocking your goals. Use your wits to evade them. Brute force in the form of tackles and grabs works too. The nature of the ball changes with the game mode, opening up whole new styles of play. In Runner mode, the ball has legs and will walk towards your goals. In Pinball mode, you’ll be contending with gravity. In Radio mode, you can freakishly steer the ball from across the board. Battle players across the world for coveted high score titles. You can also play Arcade Sundown locally with friends! Customize according to the squad’s preference — play for points or for goals — and go head to head in 2v2 teams mode or in a classic free-for-all.
Come hang out on our Discord, where we chat about the game, announce tournaments, and generally have a nice time. The core game-play mechanic works really well. It’s hectic, chaotic and super-satisfying when you get that high multiplier score in. Grabbing and shoving other characters, sending them into one of the longer pinball loops, just before the ball is about to drop, is hilarious as well. The speed of the ball and the general physics of it feels nice. The character dash and the “sprint” feels quite balanced, with some nice punishment if you just wing it (I’m a bit of a master of shooting myself in the wrong angle). The AI is great for learning, but you quickly learn how it works. Even though the increasing difficulty of the enemy is a nice idea, it can still be learned pretty easy from my experience. It reminds me a bit of the old NHL’94 for the Sega, where, once you learned a specific tactic, you could basically always score a goal. Is this a major issue? Nah, since I expect this will mostly be played with other people for maximum mayhem.
Arcade Sundown Pre-Installed:
Even though I think they’ve managed to encapsulate the pinball feeling and make it into a lovable party game, I’d love to see even more pinball mechanics added! Multiball, unlockable elements if you manage to shoot over specific markers while you control the ball and one of those areas with so many bumpers that the ball almost get stuck. One thing I’d love to see, is some more levels with a bit more height differences. They have a bit of it, but I think it would add a bit of dynamic, having people chase, jumping up and down. There are some different aspect I’d love to go through. First, the visuals. This game is really a piece of art. Love the style, characters, levels and the cinematics. For such a “small” introduction that the characters get, they are still so well thought out, with funny personalities.
