Speed running in this game is a lot of fun, and the leaderboard keeps me coming back for more, trying to beat my own scores and compete with others. It’s really motivating! Love the artstyle and hidden collectables in the game. The cardboard aesthetic and origami character give the game such a charming vibe! Trying to find all the hidden crowns is fun and a bit challenging at the same time. Gives the game some replayability since it’s a short and sweet game.

Charming little platformer. A bit short, though, but it’s fun exploring secret places and improve. What makes the game so special is the art-style. Everything is made of cardboard and the cardboard landscape looks awesome in some places. ‘Puzzle game but with a narrative’ is a subgenre that has to deliver said narrative effectively and efficiently to avoid bogging its gameplay down or coming across as pretentious. In Viewfinder’s case, it doesn’t fail in these regards, but it feels like the story was injected for the sake of something to follow along with For example, you’ll find a picture of a walkway that you can overlay into the world to make it usable in crossing a gap, whereas a later level will require you to make copies of a picture to traverse multiple gaps. The game is elegant with introducing a new concept and letting you play around to understand it thanks to the rewind feature, so even if a puzzle is a real stumper, there’s no punishment for experimenting and/or failing.
