This game puts you in the shoes of Lucy, an enhanced street samurai searching for her lost memories in the dystopian and plague-stricken Sunset City. With action-packed gameplay, fantastic bosses, and a vibrant cyberpunk world, Beyond Sunset offers an exciting experience that sometimes stumbles on level navigation and objective clarity. The game’s story sets the stage for Lucy’s quest to regain her lost memories and become a street samurai in a dangerous, futuristic city.
Beyond Sunset excels in delivering fast-paced first-person shooter action with RPG elements. The gunplay is great, and Lucy’s abilities make her feel like a formidable force in combat. The large, open, interactive levels filled with yakuza, zombies, robots, and bosses provide a variety of challenges to overcome. Upgrading and customizing weapons are a feature in game. The dash and slide maneuvers add a layer of depth to the combat system, allowing players to outmaneuver their adversaries in creative ways. The mod support in Beyond Sunset is a feature that i haven’t had the chance to test out. Hopefully this will add more replayability and exciting content in the game. The game’s lo-fi aesthetic, reminiscent of classic first-person shooters, is a nostalgic nod to the genre’s roots. The synthwave soundtrack perfectly complements the cyberpunk atmosphere, immersing players in a retro-futuristic world.

While Beyond Sunset offers exciting gameplay, it suffers from occasional issues with level navigation and objective clarity.
