MewnBase is a cute, 2D exploration/survival game. You land on an uncharted world only to realize you didn’t bring any snacks and forgot half your luggage. But hey, at least you brought this workbench thing. You’ll need to collect resources in order to construct a make-shift base. Craft a variety of different base modules, from airlocks to rain-water collectors in order to make your new home on this barren planet a little more cozy. Technology Upgrades Find strange, yet oddly familiar artifacts scattered around the planet. Research them to unlock shiny new crafting recipes and tech upgrades. Manage Your Base’s Resources Build air cleaners to keep you breathing. All those modules plugged into a single outlet probably won’t cut it. So you’ll need more solar panels to keep things humming along. Keep a supply of clean water on hand to keep your plants hydrated. Day/Night Cycles and Weather Hazards It’s hard to find your way in the dark.
Then batten down the hatches during thunderstorms and gusty sandstorms. Vehicles Walking from point A to B is for the theoretical space-birds. If there were any. Construct vehicles to traverse long distances in style. I’m so psyched to finally see MewnBase fully released. My wife showed it to me a few years back, saying there’s this cute little game I have to check out. Sure enough I immediately went ahead and bought it. Over the years I got excited each time I saw a new update release, up until this week when I finally saw 1.0 was going live. You’ll find there’s a lot of fun to be had in this builder, survival game. While it’s probably not as deep and expansive as some of the more hardcore survival games out there, there is just so much charm that went into this game.
MewnBase Direct Play:
The game’s difficulty settings allows for players of all skill level to enjoy this game, whether they want to be constantly assaulted by raids and struggle with combat or they want to create lush gardens in peace. The narrative is lovely, and I dearly hope that it’s story expands. It’s one of those games where there’s no right way to play. Play how you want and play how you think is most fun. There’s different game modes where you can choose what type of experience you want from the game. Some go for those hardcore challenge runs and I go for Journey mode because I love the buidling and crafting elements. So fuel up your generators and make sure your base’s batteries are topped off before night falls.
