There are rotating items, platforms that disappear, and moving objects in levels. numerous traps that kill the gamer as well. traps such as rotating wheels, axes, and moving saws, etc. The player will perish and have to start the game over if he strikes any traps or walls that are near water. So utilize your leaping abilities to complete 16 levels and be the hero pill. So let’s dive into the pros about the game, the game itself is improved with new graphics and music as well as being changed up from the original by adding new mechanics and other goodies to the gameplay while retaining all the original charm and nostalgia, playing through all of the levels again on this adventure is a lot of fun from getting all the collectibles to doing the bonus stages and taking on the bosses, it’s just as you remember it if you’ve played the original.
We played through the first game, together, helping each other and take turns playing, switching player after a death or when the other got frustrated (we both did.) We played through the 2nd game in the franchise, together. The third much so. And we kept going. No matter how many games the franchise got we could not get enough of them. We collected all the secrets, maxed all the guns, played through the same game 4-5 times. As I was struggling getting work, making money, I was both happy to see a new Ratchet & Clank game pop up for the new generation but also sad, because of the struggle to get hold of a console, and also not having enough money to begin with. The level design is something out of this world and the transition between universes is truly seamless. The weapons are something worth pointing out too because each of them feel great and are really inventive.

I might be biased because of the nostalgia and history that this franchise has brought me, from a child to an adult, but I want you to give this game a go if you can. Or even if you’re a fan of old games, or maybe the platforming genre, to go back and play the old games before giving this one a chance. Even as a die hard fan I must admit that the price might be slightly steep without a sale, but when it’s on sale, go for it. At its core, this is still very much the classic Ratchet & Clank experience, but Insomniac managed to dial it up all the way to maximum and infuse it with a really strong sense of cinematic expanse without compromising on that fundamental R&C experience. It is also one of the most fantastic looking games I’ve ever played.
