Discover the many secrets cleverly hidden in your dog’s body. You will be accompanied on your mission by a blood-pumping score by Juhani Junkala Save humanity’s best friend. Prove that you’re the vaccine that can put an end to the pet-demic. What are you waiting for? Put on your hazard suit and blast some viral scum! The fate of dog-kind is in your hands! It has all the bits and pieces you’d expect from a good metroidvania, like polished movement, impactful upgrades, and creative boss fights, but for me the best part is the game’s charm, for lack of a better word. Take the game’s whimsically serious premise, for example: a mad scientist using a sentient pig vaccine to save his beloved dog from a pet-demic.
BioGun Direct Play:
What’s not to love? Right from the intro sequence, the game is filled with this charm; from humor and clever dialogue, to memorable characters, to delightful animations. It’s like if hollow knight had a baby, but the baby went to therapy and grew up to not be horribly traumatized and depressed. I can play bio-gun for more than a few hours before needing to go look at puppies online. In fact, the puppies are IN-GAME. Now that’s innovation. The Demo sold me immediately and after playing for the last hour or so I must say this game has so much charm and is just a blast to play! You can tell how much care was put into crafting this game together and I am so grateful to have seen it start as just a demo and now to become a full game is just such a wonderful thing to witness. Takes me back to watching Saturday Morning Cartoons, except now I get to play it! No higher complement I can give than that!
