Hexocity is a relaxing puzzle game set up in a futuristic world. Inspired by the great “Dorfromantik” we have decided to make this game to build our team with a limit of 6 months of development. Build your archipelago while listening to relaxing synthwave music. Hexocity is a relaxing puzzle game where you place hexagonal tiles and win points by connecting the same elements. You start with a limited number of tiles and the game ends when you reach 0. Some features will allow you to win more tiles so you can extend the game duration. Make the best score before the end! Make perfect tiles to win powers & a bonus of points and 1 more tile. Win bonuses of points & tiles with quests. Connect 2 Roads : place your ending point and place tiles to connect both points. The shortest path gives a bonus. Connect 2 Canals : Place your ending point and place tiles to connect both points. All tiles give a bonus. Create your own islands with no limits in the creative mode.
The music is incredibly good. Absolutely loved every track. Some reminded more of Blade Runner-y style songs to some that even gave me a Cowboy Bebop flair. All of it, super good. I really love the outrun, cyberpunk-y graphics of the tiles. Even the water and sun are beautiful as a backdrop. I love how you can zoom in and angle the camera so you can get a great look at the cityscape. For those looking for less of a challenge and an even more chill experience, there is a creative mode where you have free reign of your city and tiles. You can make some gorgeous views! I was able to play this on my Steam Deck without messing with any settings and it worked great. After an incredibly long session on the same map, I did experience some frame drops at max quality, but dropping the graphics to medium solved any lag.

Keep in mind, this was an absurdly long run (9 hours) and I didn’t experience any slower frames till about hour 7 on the same run. The synthwave music is truly incredible and immerses us in the game’s universe. I just want to get in my car and drive along the motorways I’m building, facing the sunset between the buildings of my cities. The graphics are beautiful and the music is just my thing, not too prominent, relaxing with a special vibe to it which I can’t explain. It’s simple but it has bonuses such as the possibility to remove a tile and simple quests to make paths of which you choose the difficulty yourself. it’s basically a puzzle game. The ecology aspect is not terribly strong; nothing like SimLife or Gundan Frontier. But all aspects of the game do have some connection to ecology or ecosystem restoration.
