I am Sorry is a live-action graphic-based thriller puzzle game. A janitor, hired for a cleaning job, enters a mansion. As the janitor proceeds with cleaning over multiple sessions, they notice unusual phenomena that differ from before and eventually uncover a horrifying truth. Object Investigation You can interact with various objects for cleaning or puzzle-solving. Investigate objects and piece together the story to reach the ending. Change Detection Changes occur through repetitive tasks. These changes can be crucial to the story and must be carefully observed. Puzzle Solving Solve puzzles to delve into the core of the story. Each puzzle is narrative-based, and while it’s not necessary to understand all of them, they provide a means to explore the story more deeply. So at first I thought I the game was glitchy then I realized that it’s part of the game and to be honest I enjoyed it.
As of writing this review, it’s just fair to mention that I haven’t completed the game fully yet – that means that despite finishing the main story twice for both endings, upgrading the ship fully and completing all of the puzzles, there’s still some side quests that I haven’t finished yet and aim on finishing before trying to 100% this game in the near future. Dredge first captured me with its uniquely stylized art style, reeled me in with its amazingly haunted setting and kept me with its relaxing mechanics. By the time I was comfortable with the gameplay I was in a catch-em-all mindset with every abberated fish in the game. The story is straightforward but it awards you well when you’ve explored every single nook and cranny island/rock in the game. Dredge renewed my interest in Eldritch/Lovecraftian stories that I even got into some horror audiodramas and even got the Lovecraft manga.

The game is great for those who are busy or find themselves multitasking, I had to leave the game open for a while once, leaving my little boat floating in open waters yet the game didn’t punish me for it, I didn’t lose a single catch. It’s losing a lot of appeal on repeat play, due to low difficulty/challenge and a lot of repeatable grind. However what I felt on the first play is more than enough to be worth the money. I’m looking forward to the next title by this studio, because they really know how to build an exciting game. if you play it a lot though, you do kind of “memorize” the game so it would be nice if they did update to have different wind currents so that you had to think more about your shots but overall a good game.
