There is a small issue with the language not taking into account what you have configured from Steam, so once you start the game for the first time, it will be in Chinese, so you will need to select the second option in the main menu, and then the fifth option, to change the language. The gameplay is really like playing an old Play Station One game, with some fights, 3D cutscenes, storyboard cutscenes, some times it is only about walking and talking, and it has loading screens to go in and out of buildings, etc.

Monkey King: Hero Is Back is an entertaining game, but while the looks and animations are very impressive, it is also not very memorable. The pace is quite low and the difficulty level will never really make you sweat, in addition to a few boss fights perhaps. That makes the game especially suitable for younger players or gamers who just want some relaxation. The fights are not too difficult and can get a bit monotonous at some point, it’s never really annoying.
