A Game About Digging A Hole Steam Pre-Installed
once you reach about 100m down your forced to basically do a stealth mission with gigantic moles in a cave. You cant dig around or away from it, cant use lights, cant even fight back with the dynamite, they kill you upon touching you, and you restart at the top. its a max 2 hour game for one play through (not a bad thing considering its price) and i love simple games like this where i just play for a bit and visit it every month or so to play again, the moles at the end are the entire reason why i’m refunding this. its a good game, it looks pretty and its concept is enjoyable, but the end part takes me out of it.
I was having fun at first, just digging dirt and stuff. As you dig you find ore which you can spend to get upgrades. You can also buy lights for the dark parts and dynamite to blow rock that is too hard for your drill/shovel. I was having a solid 6/10 time until I made it 100 meters deep, at that point having every upgrade possible. Upon reaching the bottom you find a drop down point where you suddenly are thrust from a relaxing grind game to a stealth mission with no clear direction in a dark cavern. You can’t drill, cant use your jetpack, can’t use lights, can’t use dynamite, all of your upgrades are gone for the purpose of the stealth shift.

For five bucks, it’s good. I like to dig. It’s satisfying to make a big hole. Worth it for what it costs but disappointing. As fun as digging is, the fact that the game likes to leave tiny fragments behind that are annoying.Another annoyance in digging is if you clear around the rocks before blowing them up, it’s really hard to hit them. The dynamite bounces a lot, which make precision a pain. Going back to those little fragments for a moment. Landing on them sucks. If your plan is to activate the jetpack before landing, you’ll end up landing on one of those and take damage. Grated health basically doesn’t matter. Only enemy kills you in one shot. Running out of energy kills you. Dynamite and falling are the only ways
