The narrative is rather basic compared to that of other indie titles, yet the completely adequate story beats and characters accompany the game’s main mechanics nicely. Would definitely recommend this particular title to anyone looking for a challenging beat-em-up that rewards them for careful planning and strategy, but also provides a satisfactory combat system that gives them room to play around with. Please note that the above review completely disregards any controversy relating to Aeon Must Die!’s development and merely judges the game for what it is, a game.

The gameplay is pretty much perfect as far as the ‘cinematic platformers’ go, it’s a bit optimized so it’s not as hard as some of the classics, I would say the difficulty is mostly fair – if you have prior experience with the genre. The checkpoints are usually only 30 to 50 seconds apart so even if you die, it’s not hard to backtrack, maybe with the exception of the last 2 stages where it got a bit more annoying. over-the-top action Stunning art and mind-blowing OST Stylish, accessible combat featuring proper fighting game mechanics Choose who you kill or spare and change the fate of the galaxy.
