Age of Reforging: The Freelands , the load times in the game need to be made a little bit faster. Apart from that, I’ve been having a good time thus far. especially when using the over-the-shoulder camera, one can really become involved in this universe. I believe that the controls may use some fine-tuning. In the future, I’d also like to hear some voice acting. The immersion would be greatly increased. The game has some time to reach its full potential because Early Access is still in effect. Basically a hybrid of Diablo and Mount and Blade Bannerlords. The game wasn’t made by the most skilled developer, but it sure seems enjoyable. The game really needs to work on gettin’ the load times a bit shorter. Other than that, I’ve enjoyed the time spent here thus far. Can really get immersed in this world especially with the over the shoulder camera. The controls do need a bit of fine tuning imo. I’d alsao like to see some voice acting in the future. It’d really add to the immersion. The game is in Early Access so it has some time to realize it’s full potential.
There are numerous glitches and problems, but if the developer sticks with it, the game has the potential to be fantastic. However, it is still in the early stages, so make your decision carefully. It has many distinct design objectives, which I truly value. I’ve always like sandbox-style games like Kenshi and Mount and Blade that are more open-ended. This game has that same vibe, except the tactical battle is real-time with pauses. Having saying that, it still reveals a lot of its early condition at the time this review was being written. It has a lot of clear design goals I really appreciate. I’ve always enjoyed games with a more open ended and sandbox style experience like Kenshi and Mount and Blade. This game has that sort of feel but with a real time with pause sort of tactical combat. Having said that, it shows its early state quite a bit at the time of the writing of this review.

There are bugs aplenty and no small amount of jank, additionally there is clearly very little optimization as the game stutters even on my high-end PC. Yet I feel a certain magic in this game, I want it to be successful because I can see myself sinking 100’s of hours into this game if it manages to fulfill the potential I feel it has based on the current design direction. I do have a suggestion for the Devs, assuming they’ll read this review and are earnest about taking feedback. I’d love to see the ability to customize the appearance and name of hired Mercenaries, as I’d love to be able to put together a party entirely of my own making. In fact, I’d be open to the idea of having a separate option when hiring Mercenaries to create another custom character from scratch. Maybe make it cost more to balance it out or something. Being able to create an entire customized party would be very welcome.
