AK-xolotl is awesome, I’ve been following the game for around 2 years and played the demos before it was even a roguelike, I supported the kickstarter immediately and have loved watching the game grow. The game is super fun and so so so adorable (and the soundtrack goes so hard) I’ve been having a blast playing it with all the demos, and now the full release. The team is super passionate and engaged with the community and just generally the coolest people. As a fan of titles like “Nuclear Throne” and a lover of “Enter the Gungeon” puns, AK-xolotl hits the mark for me.

The biomes are diverse, the rooms are randomly generated, and the thrill of collecting food for your baby Axolotls I did not expect. In conclusion, AK-xolotl is a delightful bullet hell experience that offers a perfect blend of challenge and charm. And yes, there are a lotl of bullets! I also feel like I am limited to very few upgrades per run. I would like to min max as much as possible, but sometimes I go a whole section without getting a room that contains an item. In that respect, I would definitely prefer the bosses to drop items instead of weapons.
