In “Amidst the Haze,” the normality of an ordinary trip to the grocery store is quickly transformed into a survival nightmare. A dense, ominous fog engulfs the city, confining a group of customers and employees to the supermarket, the only apparently safe place. However, what lurks outside this sanctuary could be an unknown, lethal threat. This oppressive fog is not merely atmospheric, but rather a veil that conceals terrifying, nameless entities. Those who venture out of the supermarket face an uncertain fate, risking their lives before these dark creatures.
The fight for survival becomes a battle between staying within the familiar but increasingly claustrophobic walls or risking the unknown outside. As writing this review I finished the campaign on Nightmare difficulty and I loved it from start to finish! It is much more challenging compared to the first game, making my experience feel like every boss / enemy encounter is a challenge. The cinamatics were awesome, the story was so good and put so well together! The character development: Seeing all the characters grow up, learn and fight for their lives was such a good feeling. The painstaking attention to detail transforms the rugged landscapes of the Wild West into a living, breathing canvas. From the mesmerizing sunsets that cast long shadows across the prairies to the subtle nuances in character expressions, every frame is a testament to Rockstar’s commitment to visual excellence.

The potential for an expansive, immersive online world with trading, diverse occupations, and a nuanced leveling system is apparent. It could have evolved into a distinctive RPG experience, standing tall as a genre-defining masterpiece in its own right. Unfortunately, the reality falls short of this potential, leaving players yearning for a more realized online Wild West experience. It’s like reaching the summit, and everything else is downhill. It’s more than a game; it’s an unforgettable journey that set a new standard. All the characters have endured extremely hard stories, and are the often tragic fruit of their experiences. I was quite surprised too by its serious and dark tone vibes sprinkled with lots of gore and horror .. and not to mention the epic boss battles.
