If you’ve liked the first game and want more of it I’d say this sequel does a pretty good job at delivering without being a basic copy of the first one and by instead introducing some different and exciting things. so def play it. The issue for me is the more linear structure after the first 3 bosses/areas. I like the traversal methods and abilities but i feel like they didn’t use them to their full potential.
A very, very solid title for Metroidvania lovers. Game-play elements are built on top of what the first part did. The world map is slightly more complicated and bigger than before, but becomes easily accessible for backtracking once you’ve progressed farther in the game. If you’re a seasoned Metroidvania player, this game is not the most difficult of them all. I would say it’s of “medium” difficulty when considering a game like Aeterna Noctis to be much harder. Only one boss took more than 5-10 attempts to beat. The one recommendation i have for you, if you decide to play it, use the map markers on anything you do not yet understand, it makes gathering every upgrade much easier and makes the game less difficult. This game is really good ! The variety of gameplay is colossal, there’s +30 skulls and each plays differently add to this build possibilities for each run. Don’t get me wrong though, this game is hard but there’s an easy mode in the options.

This game simply did a great job with every detail. Their dedication and creativity shows in every texture and every unique character animation. They spent many years creating a universe that truly lives and breathes its own rules. Not only the visual aspects of the game are admirable, but the musical accompaniment is so high quality and beautiful that it is simply amazing. Gorgeous melodies that fully match the atmosphere and action on the screen, create a unique atmosphere and add depth to the gameplay. And what’s even more amazing is that the developers didn’t limit themselves to just the original game, but released an update in the form of additional content. New bosses, a compelling story, and other improvements that rival the quality of the original game show that the development team truly cares about its players.
