Plus, while the environments, enemies and characters are unique, they aren’t all that distinctive, which can be an issue if this game wants to build upon this release and become a successful franchise. However, as a whole, the game is presented well with vibrant colours, great animations and an overall design that is refined and polished, even if it is a little safe. Visit five different cities populated by unique creatures and solve more than 20 dangerous dungeons. With over 50 hours of game-play and a range of fun mini-games – including shoot ‘em ups, an original fantasy-themed card game and challenging environmental puzzles.

The player will have the ability to use new summons, unlock new abilities, call upon the help of legendary beasts and use cosmo breaks to defeat over 200 different enemy variants. Games like this have a tendency to feel stale after a few hours so its nice to see a game come along that bucks that trend. Yes, the game doesn’t have great quality of life features, and I think that’s intentional. You don’t have access to ALL of an enemy’s vulnerabilities right away, you need to memorize or recognize every new enemy you encounter. You need to equip your characters item by item, but each has unique artwork and it feels like each piece of equipment has been thought through. After playing the beginning of the game (I have just over 8 hours, I think), the feeling I have is of a game that was made with the intention of being beautiful AND challenging.
