In this game, you lie in bed, trying to survive for 20 days. You have to eat, carry about your mental state, and use a bucket as a toilet. You are a young girl who got into a car crash, and after being released from the hospital, she could not get up from the bed, not due to the injuries but to her degrading mental state. You need to survive through the game timeline and not die because of starvation or depression. So now that I played a couple of your games Marginalact, I am starting to appreciate your work a little more, and to be honest I don’t think you get the credit for all the unique ideas that you do, personally I always saw the talent, just not the results, right until now – I think this it the best game you made so far, at least from those that I played. I think part of it is that, doing things that are very different is not going to register with people right away, I had the same experience with devs like Arkhouse, ApeHardware and RailSlave, I didn’t like their artistic vision at first, but eventually I became a big fan, and now I am a fan of your work as well.
I do have one big problem with the game, I thought the narrative and how you were building the mystery was great, all the way until like literally the last 5 seconds, you gave me all of these interesting plot lines and then the game is like, this is it, you get 5 seconds of resolution. Look, I am not saying you have to change the overall conclusion, just maybe add a longer ending scene or two, maybe with a few interactions, perhaps a bit more context, cuz you created so much mystery and questions in a short time, just to run it into the ground, I was really disappointed that a decent story like that had so little time for closure. It took me about 2 hours to finish, not counting restarting my saves because of the update. That being said the relationship between Bunny and Mum had some good moments, I felt like both of them were struggling with their own problems and you could relate to their perspectives, you either waste your life in a bed, or you waste your life taking care of a person who won’t leave it.
Bedrotting Direct Play:
The game can feel tedious and boring at times, and yet it kinda complements the whole gimmick, certainly a unique experience, even though it may not always be a fun one. Very unique experience, never played anything exactly like that except maybe Isolania which had a similar gimmick. Now, the gameplay is boring and tedious which kinda complements the story, but I will still give you credit for doing something different, and not just doing another horror game where you walk around and open doors. There were some great and poor effects in the game. I thought most of the demon models and how you would move them looked nice, but I didn’t care much for you spamming heads or eyes, it felt a bit on the nose, I think you had some effects in the game that were a lot more effective, like the water or the blood room.
