Choose your Crew! Train and personalise your own Bomber Crew. Procedurally-generated names, skills and back stories means a unique experience for everyone, but be careful, as death is permanent. Carefully manage everything from fuel, ammo, hydraulics and more in your very own physics-based Bomber. Make it yours with a wide array of nose art and liveries, or design your own with the simple to use in-game tool. Each mission is a high-risk expedition where danger comes from every angle. Enemy fighters, flak guns, poor weather, low oxygen and an array of other perilous dangers await when the wheels are up. Preparation is key for a successful mission. Tag enemy fighters before they reach you, make sure your destination is marked but most importantly, make sure you have the right team for the job. On a WW2 bomber, every role is essential for victory!
Bomber Crew is a cartoony WW2 strategy roguelite where you control an air crew manning a bomber against Axis forces, where you don’t control the flight or shooting directly but manage each crew member and use their skills in order to keep the plane flying until the end of the mission. The main focus of the game is around keeping the plane up and the crew surviving against enemy attacks as you attempt increasingly dangerous and daring bombing, rescue, and scouting missions amidst WW2. Permadeath is a core mechanic, and the plane going down hard can mean a total wipeout for your crew, forcing you to start from scratch. As crews gain experience they can unlock new skills and specialise in additional rules, while your plane can be upgraded with money earned from each mission. Defying the tone set out by its art style, the game is pretty intense and can go from feeling a bit too easy to surviving by the skin of your teeth within seconds.
While content variety can be a bit lacking, you’ll definitely get many fun hours out of the game. Just remember not to underestimate the danger, no matter how cute everything looks. Fun little game, quite challenging definitely more challenging than I originally anticipated, there is a lot of multitasking to be done which i struggle with in games, in the game you take control of a bombing crew, upgrade, train and customise them, you can also upgrade and customise your bomber giving it more armour and better guns etc Completing other optional objectives during the mission made me level up faster and upgrade faster as you get bonus money.
