Book of Hours Direct Play:
I’ve played lots of Cultist Simulator before, and I was so stoked to hear about this “chill librarian game” these people have been making. Having played some of the beta, I can say this game is quite quaint & lovely in its setting. The gameplay can be confusing, especially if you’re not familiar with Cultist Simulator, but even if you haven’t you can figure it out and get used to it because the “figuring it out” is an important part of the game. You’re in charge of the big library castle thing on the island. Your real world knowledge is very much in line with your character’s knowledge, and figuring out how the game works is very intentionally fitting for how your character is figuring out their role. ed for me in the same way, yet. But I’m still recommending it. The presentation is lovely, a big improvement over the sparse and utilitarian look of its predecessor. And the writing remains superb.
