The game’s endearing graphic aesthetic vividly depicts the world of ramen preparation. The loving recreation of the sights and sounds of a busy ramen shop makes for an enjoyable and immersive experience. The cell-shaded art style is visionary, and what every cell-shaded game ought to strive for, and the gameplay is pretty good too. I like the 1.0 story a lot, it all feels very grand and somewhat divine, devising schemes to activate ancient technology one-by-one across the solar system. Progressing to the next tier still allows the player to use lower tier items and not just scrap them because they dont have any uses. Crafting in general is not overly complicated because resource collection is made simple. You’re not filling out your storage with random junk you think you might need for crafting at some point so general storage is streamlined. With the game designed around those basics the game becomes very unique.

The visual and audio design of this game is amazing. Everything has a unique noise, unique symbol, a unique color, just a unique visual representation of a quantity. From your dynamic ui to the battery levels to even the platform tiers for what can be placed where, there are not a lot of games that would put this much focus into this aspect of game design. The stakes aren’t high but it’s not about that, it’s about the journey and the fun had along the way. Astroneer might be one of my favorite games of all time. The game is gorgeous! It’s so vibrant in color! Each planet is completely different. Some are easier than others when it comes down to gathering resources. There is so much to learn, build and explore on all the different planets! You’ll be able to add more dishes, alter your restaurant’s decor, and unlock additional ingredients as your reputation rises.
