Chop Goblins Direct Download
You thought it would be fun to break into a nearby museum and root through the artifacts stored there. Little did you know that a dusty chest in the basement imprisoned the evil CHOP GOBLINS. Now they’re loose, wrecking bladed havok on the world once again. It’s up to you to chase them through the city and across space and time, in a bespoke FPS campaign spanning the modern day, 1800’s Transylvania, ancient Greece, and the not too distant future. Chop Goblins is a “microshooter”: An FPS designed to be completed in a single sitting, without sacrificing depth, variety, or creativity in its gameplay and level design. It’s a game you can play for less than an hour, or replay for many hours. Need something to distract you from work, boredom, or grinding in other games? Take a Chop Goblins Break, with a fun and satisfying FPS campaign that only takes one sitting to fully experience.
Chop Goblins is simultaneously very easy to describe and seemingly ridiculous when summed up in brief. You accidentally summoned the evil, titular chop goblins after opening an Evil™ box in a library, whereupon you must stop them before they… uh, chop everything. Past that, causality gets a little fuzzy, and the individual levels of the game are only tenuously connected at best. And that’s great, because Chop Goblins is a superb absurdist comedy. Look, it’s called Chop Goblins. You can guess the tone right now. You want to fight a singing Dracula? You want to travel across time and space to shoot goblins in the face as they cackle and ramble in the most goblin-y voices you can imagine? Do you want to bust out laughing at some of the most ridiculous run cycle animations you’ve ever seen? Yes. Yes, you do, and if you had to stop seriously to consider if $5 was too much to pay for when you just read the words “singing Dracula,” I can’t help you.
Chop Goblins Pre-Installed:
Oh, sure. It’s got other perks too. It’s short, which is nice; the game is the cheap turkey sandwich of PC shooters, but, like… in a good way. It’s good, smoked turkey, not the generic stuff. It’s also got some superb level design and many secrets that require out-of-the-box thinking to reach. (Dave Szymanski, one of the developers who worked on Dusk and is co-developing Gloomwood made this, if it wasn’t obvious from the lo-fi aesthetics and absolutely taut controls. Music’s even pretty damn catchy too. As subtle derivatives become transformed through the varied geometries and atmospheres of the game environment, the viewer is left with an insight into the inaccuracies of our world, leading one to ponder upon the opacity of urban spaces, and our place (as players) within them.
